1. TROLLING VALVES, THIS IS IMPORTANT, 4.7 KTS IS TOO FAST
FOR ROCKFISH NEED TO HAVE THIS TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE
SAT. (This was reported to Baker Marine and to Rampage, it was taken care of by myself.)
2. SINGLE LEVER OPERATION ON SYNC (Wrong instructions in ZF manual)
3. RPM PROBLEM ON PORT GAUGES, PORT ENGINE HUNTING IN
SYNC. MODE. THE ENGINE CONTROLS (ZF) BASICALLY PORT
ENGINE RUNS FASTER AT SLOWER RPM'S AND LOWER AT
HIGHER RPM'S. PORT ENGINE RPM'S FLUCTUATE ON THE
DISPLAY AS MUCH AS 400 RPM'S (THE ACTUAL ENGINE RPM'S
ARE NOT VARYING) AT CRUISE. THE ENGINES ARE SET TO SYNC
ON A THROTTLE POSITION (OPEN LOOP CONTROL WITH NO
FEED BACK FROM AN RPM SENSOR) THIS WOULD BE OK IF THE
THROTTLE POSITIONS (TRAVEL) WERE EQUAL. THEY ARE NOT.
ON THE ZF CONTROLS THE PORT ENGINE IS SET TO A VALUE OF
71 FOR FULL THROTTLE ADVANCE & THE PORT ENGINE IS SET
TO A VALUE OF 87 FOR A FULL THROTTLE ADVANCE. WITH THIS
IN MIND AT SOME POINT IN THIS RANGE THE ENGINES ARE IN
SYNC, THROUGH MOST POINTS IN THIS RANGE THE ENGINES
ARE NOT IN SYNC. TALKED TO SCOTTY AT ZF & HE FAXED ME
THE PARAMETERS FOR THESE CONTROLS AS THE MANUALS
FURNISHED WITH THE BOAT WERE NOT CURRENT. THEY DID
NOT HAVE THE FUNCTION CODE SETTINGS IN THEM. HE HAS
SENT ME CURRENT ONES. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT ZF HAS
ADVISED RAMPAGE NOT TO PROVIDE AN ENGINE INSTALLATION
WITH THESE CONTROLS THAT RUN IN A CLOSED LOOP
CONFIGURATION (NO FEED BACK FROM AN RPM SENSOR). A
CLOSED LOOP CONFIGURATION WOULD ALLOW THESE ENGINES
TO SENSE THROUGH AN RPM SENSOR WHAT THE OTHER
ENGINE IS TURNING AND GIVE A TRUE SYNC, WHICH OUTSIDE
OF THE TROLLING VALVE FUNCTION IS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF
USING THESE CONTROLS. (This was reported to Baker Marine and to Rampage, appointments with Mack Boring were made by myself.)
4. CLUTCH PRESSURE GAUGE PROBLEM AS DISCUSSED. GAUGE
MAXES OUT WHEN ENGINE SWITCH IS TURNED ON & STAYS
THERE DURING NORMAL OPERATION. (This was reported to Baker Marine and to Rampage, appointments with Mack Boring were made by myself.)
5. CLUTCH PRESS ALARM AS DISCUSSED EARLIER. (This was reported to Baker Marine and to Rampage, appointments with Mack Boring were made by myself.)
6. GEL COAT REPAIR ON HATCH & TRANSOM ALSO MARKS THAT
DAVID SAID HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF ON THE TOP DECK & SIDE (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by baker marine.)
7. NEED OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS & MANUFACTURES INFO FOR
FREEZER BOX & THERMOSTAT. (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by baker marine.)
8. IT WAS A DIFFERENT CHAIR IN THE 33 THAT WE RAN; IT ALSO
HAD A FOOT REST ON THE PEDESTAL IN ADDITION TO THE ONE
UNDER THE ELECTRONICS CONSOLE. WE BASED OUR ORDER.
ON WHAT WAS IN THAT BOAT BEING THAT THERE WAS NOT A
STANDARD EQUIPMENT LIST AT THE TIME
9. HANDLES NEED TO BE TURNED AROUND ON THE OUTRIGGERS
THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE SOON WE'LL BE USING THE BACK
CURTAINS IN APROX. 3 WKS (This was reported to Baker Marine and to Rampage, it was taken care of by myself.)
10. RAW WATER PUMP HAS NO FLOW. THIS COMES OFF THE SAME SEACOCK
AS THE RAW WATER PUMP, I'LL DO A LITTLE CHECKING ON THAT
BEFORE WE GET ANYONE TO LOOK AT IT. (This was reported to Baker Marine and to Rampage, it was taken care of by myself.)
11. TV ANTENNA, IT WAS ON THE ORIGINAL BOAT, CONTROL WAS IN
THE DISTRIBUTION PANEL (At the time this boat was ordered there was no standard equipment list. I ordered it the boat with the understanding that with the exception of the engines everything else would be the same. I was informed by Baker marine after delivery that this had been dropped as an option.)
12. THE IS A BATTERY SWITCH FOR THE GENSET BATTERY BUT NO
BATTERY I BELIEVE THERE WERE 4 BATTERIES IN THE DEMO
BOAT. (THIS HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF)
13. HOUSE BATTERY HAS LOST CHARGE WITHIN 2 HRS. OF BOAT
BEING UNPLUGGED TWICE. 77?????? BAD BATTERY OR MAYBE
NOT LARGE ENOUGH????
14. DIRECTION FINDER HAS NO RANGE. I'LL CONTACT BATTLECAT
ABOUT THIS. I'LL CHECK OUT RANGE ON VHF MORE IN THE NEXT
FEW DAYS (This was reported to Baker Marine and to Battlecat Marine on numerous time starting on 1-11-05, appointments with Trident Marine and taken care of by Trident Marine & myself. Bill was faxed to Battlecat Marine on 3-15-05. Battlecat Marine has yet to reimburse me for the bill of 303.03 as of 4-27-05. Check was finally received from battle cat on 5-5-05
Check was returned on 5-13-03 for non sufficient funds
money wired and received on 5-17-05)
15. NO ALGE X ON GENSET (advertise alge-X but do not put them on the genset)
16. ANCHOR LINE SHOULD BE 300' HAVEN'T MEASURED IT YET BUT I
LOOKS MORE LIKE 150'. ACTUALLY IS 150 FT. AND HAS BEEN REPORTED TO BAKER MARINE & RAMPAGE.
17. LIGHT SWITCH ON ENGINE ROOM LIGHTS WORKS BACKWARDS, NO GASKET ON PANEL.
18. TRANSOM DOOR LATCH (IN THE OPEN POSITION) HAS NOT
BEEN INSTALLED. (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by Baker Marine.)
19. CHALKING ON HARD TOP OUTRIGGERS IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO
KEEP WATER FROM LEAKING INTO THE HARD TOP AND
DRIPPING ON THE DECK BELOW. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR WATER
TO FREEZE IN THE HARD TOP & CAUSE DAMAGE, ALSO ALLOWS
WATER TO WIRING IN THE HARD TOP. (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by baker marine.)
20. RUNNING GEAR & TRIM TABS NOT PAINTED.
21. GRAPHIC ENGINE DISPLAYS ARE CONTROLLED BY PORT ENGINE
SWITCH. BOTH DISPLAYS COME ON WHEN THIS SWITCH IS
ACTIVATED.
22. GRAPHIC ENGINE DISPLAYS RECYCLE ( CUT OFF & REBOOT)
WHEN PORT ENGINE IS STARTED
23. WATER LINE ON BOTTOM PAINT NEEDS TO BE RAISED. IF YOU
HAD FILLED IT WITH FUEL YOU COULD HAVE SEEN THIS.
24. GEL COAT REPAIRS AS NOTED, ALSO SCUFF MARKS &
SCRATCHES IN UPPER SIDE OF DECK& DASH. (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by baker marine.)
25. NO INFO ON PROPS. (This was reported to Baker Marine and to Rampage, it was taken care of by myself.)
26. ADD BUMPER TO KEEP FISH BOX LID IN FLOOR FROM HITTING
LIVE BAIT WELL WHEN DOOR IS OPEN. (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by baker marine.)
27. THE THERMOSTAT ON THE FREEZER NEEDS TO BE LOCATED SO THAT SOME ONE CAN READ IT AND ACCESS IT. NEEDS A LITTLE COMPARTMENT ACCESSIBLE FROM THE OUTSIDE LIKE ON THE 38. THE WAY THEY RUN THE LINES THROUGH THE STORAGE COMPARTMENTS FOR THE FREEZER & ICE MAKER COULD HAVE BEEN DONE IN A MANNER THAT THAT WOULD HAVE NOT TAKEN UP SO MUCH OF THE STORAGE AREA.
28. Genset is leaking oil in to the pan or bottom of the housing. Reported to baker marine when boat was delivered.
29. SERVICE MANUEL and THE PARTS MANUEL FOR THE ENGINES AND GEARS. (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by baker marine. 4-28-05)
30. THE STEPS AT THE TRANSOM DOOR. LITERATURE SAYS THE BOTTOM STEP SHOULD BE PAINTED TO PREVENT MARINE GROWTH. STEP ISN’T PAINTED ON MY BOAT ALONG WITH THE TRIM TABS. ALSO IN THIS PICTURE THE PAINT LINE IS EVEN WITH THE TOP STEP AND IS LEVEL WITH THE BREAK ON THE CHINE. THE RUNNING GEAR AND TRIM TABS WERE NOT PAINTED
31. NO WATER TO ICE MAKER (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by myself.)
32. Catch on upper side of the cabin entrance enclosure (the slide part) broke before I left Wilmington. The slide now will come all the way out if not locked in the open position. Having this open when taking spray causes water to drip in the cabin.
33. Helm station console latch on port side failed 12-1-04. This is the latch that you have to un-pin to gain access to tilt the helm station. The hinge pin (not the one that you put in to lock it ) had the brad come off of the front part ( bow ) and worked loose during running. I was not aware of this happening until I popped the port side latch loose when we returned back to the dock. Thinking I had one more latch to unlock, the force with which the helm station came back and twisted my leg was quite a surprise. I would recommend that you put a solid pin with locking nuts on these hinges. They are hollow on the ends after the brad breaks off. This would really be a BOS if it happened while you were running. This needs to be taken care of immediately and not with a new latch. (This has been repaired will probably break again.)
34. Currently there is no literature for the macerator pumps, live well pump, shower sump pump, or fresh water pump. I would like to have these for problems in the future. (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by baker marine.)
35. TRANSOM DOOR LATCH & DOOR RUB. (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by baker marine.)
36. POSSIBLE ADDITION OF SPRAY RAILS TO LESSEN THE SPRAY. (just a suggestion.)
37 Latch to hold cabin door top slide in the open position is broken. (This has been repaired will probably break again.)
38. Cracks in bowl on genset filter. Reported to baker marine when boat was delivered.
39. Lines in curtain. (This will be taken care of in July by Rampage)
40. Water leaking into cabin from upper dash from washing the boat. (This was reported to Baker Marine and taken care of by baker marine.)
41. SUPPORTS FOR THE PRIVACY CURTAIN OVER THE V-BERTH HAVE BROKEN CAUSING THE RAIL & CURTAINS TO FALL IN THE FLOOR. THE SUPPORTS ARE INADEQUATE.
42. GRAPHIC DISPLAY FOR OIL PRESSURE ON THE PORT ENGINE
FLUCTUATES. SENDING UNIT REPLACED (This was reported to Baker Marine and to Rampage, appointments with Mack Boring were made by myself.)
43. RUBBER STOPPER ON TRANSOM DOOR LATCH MISSING.
44. LEVER ON BAIT STATION FRESH WATER HOSE MISSING.
45. SAFETY SUPPORT FOR HELM STATION PLATFORM IN THE RAISED POSITION?
46. Water leaking into the cabin apparently through where the wires leading down the windshield and entering the
Cabin space has been a problem in the past. Mainly noticed this after washing down the helm station area so
Apparently this was leaking from the helm station side. I noticed that after a solid day of rain on Friday May
6th, there was a significant amount of water on the counter top in the galley. A considerable amount of water
Had run down the sink. Water was also present in the cabinet directly above the sink and dripping from the
wooden border beneath the microwave. Accumulated water stains are present beneath the right edge of the
wooden trim on the head door and also along the top left edge of the galley counter top. I have noticed water
the light fixtures above the galley. This condition if left unattended by the factory will lead to , if it hasn't already
done so, damage to the upholstery and insulation. This is a good situation to have a long term problem with
mold. If this happens I would consider it an on going problem that the factory should be responsible for.
I have noticed water accumulating in the forward bilge and also on the drain lip on the pump out valve access
hatch. Water has run off of the counter top and onto the floor twice. This needs to be addressed asap. You are
also having the same problem with the 33 that Baker Marine has in Va. Beach.
I went to the boat wed May 11th and run across the bay to Cape Charles to drum fish. We did not take spray
going across and had not washed the boat over the weekend. Last time there was water on the boat was Friday
when it rained so hard all day. Noticed when we got back that evening that the carpet was soaked in front of the
shower door approx. 18 inches into the cabin. The upholstery just below the shower door was saturated. Also
accumulated in the drain lip on the pump out valve access hatch. I had deployed the anchor 3 times. I didn’t
check to see if the carpet had a salty taste.
This was taken care of by Rampage may 19th. meeting set for May 25 for assessment of damage to cabin interior due to saltwater intrusion.
47. Issues with pinched wires on winch and unsheathed wire to coffee maker.
48. Wires to windlass pinched between hull & cabin liner behind galley
49. Crack in fiberglass in forward part of cockpit sole below helm station step.
50. Leak in fresh water system causes water fresh water tank to dump.
51. Saltwater intrusion into cabin. Boat will be returned to factory July 9th
52. Bracket on right side of the couch rubs wood on the hanging locker when it is folded out.
53. A/C kicked out on hi press. 6-25-05 3 times. No debris in raw water strainer and water was flowing to sea
chest ok. air filter was clean. Kicked out 4 times, intake water temp 77.4 degrees.
Air conditioner continued to kick out on hi pressure. Air filter is clean, sea water strainer is clean, water is going through the unit. Took off hoses and pumped city water through the one to the a/c unit., no change. Even run the unit with city water going through it, a difference of almost 20 degrees, no changes in operation. Had to run a heater in the cabin most of the winter because the reverse cycle heat would not work. You were not having this problem with the 33 cat boat the heat worked fine. This needs to be addressed real quick.
54. Found wooden bracket in floor to cabin 6-26-05. Have not determined where it came from. Forwarded pictures via email. This came off of corner of sette closest to the cabin door. Upholstery needs to be reattached.
55. DVD player quit 7-3-05 with a rented disk in it. Can’t get it to come on or to eject the disk either manually or with the remote.
56. Source of water leak in forward bilge was found 7-3-05. Sump pump does not work, not sure if it has ever worked. No debris was found in pump. Impeller rotates freely. no way to manually run the pump.
57. Support for cylinder on forward floor hatch in cabin tore out of the fiberglass lip broke 7-4-05
58. Upholstery in port v-berth storage compartment has become unattached due to salt water intrusion.
59. The raw water pump on the genset had to be replaced before leaving Wilmington in October. Genset would not pump water and there were no blades left on the impeller. The technician from Cummings Atlantic had difficulty in getting the genset to pick up prime after the impellor was replaced, required that the hoses be bled after 2 dry starts. Make note if this problem persists when the boat is put back in the water on July 29th.
60. Starboard running light contacts have had to have corrosion removed on July 4th and August 13th in order for light to work. This needs to be replaced.
61. Pull on floor rear floor hatch in the cabin hits the waste discharge pump. This has dented the cover. Needs to be addressed.
62. Various hand prints and smudges need to be cleaned off of the cabin interior. Grease stains need to be removed from the fabric on the “v” berth.
63. Finish scraped off of wood on corner of hanging locker and around steps leading into cabin.
64. Scratches & sand marks need to be removed from the cabin floor.
65. Sealing gasket on bait freezer is coming loose.
66. Upholstery on ceiling to cabin sags since returning from factory.
67. Front edge of both slide rails on couch are not secured.
69. PIN IN HINGE FOR GUNNEL TOP (TRANSOM DOOR) IS COMING OUT
9-15-05
70. 2 screws are protruding through fiberglass above and to the right of the lavatory in the head. 9-23-05
71 Caulking on transom door from last repair—Need to remove.
72 Stains from expandable foam added by AC replacement (just outside of cabin door) need to be removed.
73 Wood trim molding that was replaced during last visit does not match.
74 Gen set is shutting down with no fault code & at other times due to loss of raw water. Screen on outside of hull is tight against seacock flange, a lot of the holes are blocked due to this and caulking that is underneath the screen.
75 Re-bed stern scuppers (both sides and middle).
76 Stbd wiper won’t park
77 crack in the cockpit sole, same place that was repaired at the factory has now spread all the way across the floor and down the middle.
78 The junction block for the bonding wires on the transom are rusted up from salt water intrusion into this area along with the connectors.
79 boat was pulled 8-14-06 props, and retaining nuts exhibited evidence of electrolysis
probably from item No. 78
80 Bilge blowers will not always come on with the switch. Some times they come on with out the switch being operated.
81 Salt water is still getting in engine compartment through the air inducts. Salt residue is accumulating on everything in the engine room.
82 Freezer box under cockpit seat will not cool.
83 Port and Starboard gears disengaging forward & reverse.
84 Salt water residue in the ZF controllers for both engines.
85 .Port running light will not operate.
86. Ice maker will not work
